a story of inspiration

Updated: Jun 7, 2023

Inspire (verb) : To breath life into. To fill someone with the urge or ability to do or feel something. Normally referring to a creative thought or action.

Ironically, this is the word that perfectly describes my connection with Inspirations Ceramic + Art Cafe. I’m proud to be the owner and genuinely enjoy working at a place that fosters creativity and inspiration for all of those who visit. Finding a job or a hobby that inspires you is far too rare and I’m incredibly blessed to have exactly that in Inspirations.

I grew up in East Wenatchee and graduated from Eastmont High School in 2013. The Wenatchee Valley has always been home and I plan to stay and grow my own family roots here. It also holds a special place in my heart, having been in a near-fatal accident when I was 14 and received so much love and prayers from the community. I was struck by a vehicle on Grant Road in East Wenatchee, ambulance brought me to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, then airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, had emergency brain surgery and was put into a medically induced coma. Traumatic brain injury, fractured knee, scoliosis, hearing loss, among other complications, are a small price to pay. I learned at a young age what is truly important in life, and it's perfectly okay if all you do today is breathe.

Inspirations first opened on September 28th, 2013. I began working here just two weeks later and not too long after that I became a manager. I very quickly fell in love with this job and the studio became my second home. It didn't matter if I was scheduled to work or not, I found inspiration everywhere I looked as I dreamed of one day becoming the owner. After years of working towards this goal, in January of 2018, the former owner shared her plan of moving out of Wenatchee and selling the business. That year was a roller coaster, causing me to leave and work two other jobs. I still just couldn't shake the feeling that I was in the wrong place, I missed waking up every day inspired to go to work. Finally, I returned to Inspirations as the sole owner on December 15th, 2018, which happened to be the 9 year anniversary of when I woke up from my coma.

To build this incredible business in my hometown truly means the world to me. Come by to get a cup of coffee, paint a gift for a friend, spend quality time with family or simply come say hello!

With love,

Jenn
