Colors
Polar Bear or Not Quite White
Black Lab
Bisq-otti
Arizona Sun
Double Mint
Tangy Tangerine
Pumpkin Pie
Lil’ Boy Blue
Tweety Bird
Chocolate Moose
Instructions
1. Apply 2 coats of Polar Bear to the front and back of the plate. Then with a pencil, trace your template onto your tissue paper.
2. Once the Polar Bear or Not Quite White is dry, place your tissue paper with the template on it onto your plate and center your design. Use the water-based marker to re-trace the template onto the plate. The marker will bleed through the tissue paper onto the plate. The marker will burn off in the kiln.
3. Using a medium square brush, apply one coat of Tangy Tangerine to create the plaid stripes around the scarecrow. Note: when doing this, try not to go into the scarecrow pattern – go around it - if you get a little inside your pattern – not to worry - it’s okay.
4. Apply 3 coats of Bisq-otti to the face.
5. Apply 2 to 3 coats of Tweety Bird to the hair.
6. Apply 3 coats of Arizona Sun to the shirt, collar and patch on the hat.
7. Apply 3 coats of Lil’ Boy Blue to the overalls.
8. Apply 3 coats of Double Mint to the buttons and hat accent.
9. Apply 3 coats of Pumpkin Pie to the hat.
10. For the cheeks, apply a bit of Arizona Sun and 3 coats for the nose. Use 2 coats of Black Lab for the eyes, mouth and nose stitching.
11. Use a liner brush to apply 1 coat of Chocolate Moose for the shading on the hair. You can also add some simple lines of this color with a liner brush to give the hair some texture. At this time, you can also add some shading lines in the hat and Double Mint hat accent.
12. Use a liner brush with Bisq-otti to add the lines in the shirt and patch.
14. Use a liner brush and some Black Lab to write “Hello Fall”.
